after the rain

_LME3007A few thinnings.

So far it’s been a wet summer. That’s ok with me if it means no smokey skies.

The garden is coming around like it always does in summer regardless of smoke, sun rain or mist. Even my negligence can’t keep it down.

Hi Larry, yep Dachshunds will eat radishes. Willow’s favourite garden veggie is cabbage. You will have to try it with Nicky and Nora. Take care. Bob

Hi Carol, thank you! We have been enjoying the gardens. Your gardens are also beautiful. You are very lucky I have never been great at growing flowers. I am happy you stopped by. Take care. Bob

The flower in the second photo is a potato blossom. I am a little surprised a proper Englishwomen didn’t know that. 🙂

The black tomatoes are called Crimson Cherry. I have grown black tomatoes a few times before. It can be difficult to tell when they are ripe (they are ripe when they are red inside). They are really good.

Take care on your treks. Bob

I’m sure our potato blossoms aren’t blue – more like white I think. Perhaps they fade in our permanently wet and cold environment (although yours is probably just as bad)

White blossoms for white potatoes, purple blossoms for red potatoes. They don’t last long, when the blossoms start to die the first young spuds can be dug.

Thanks Julie! Willow likes her veggies. Yes I do believe you have to get out with your camera. It seems the correspondent from Frog Pond has gone missing again. 😉 I hope you are enjoying winter. Take care. Bob
