The clouds lifted for part of the day and we had some blue skies. The Sun felt good.
Lisa and I went looking for birds and spotted a couple Bald Eagles that let me take their picture. We searched for an American Dipper but had no luck. We saw chickadees, hawks, ravens and flickers. They seemed as happy for the sun as we were.

I always have the impression that dogs don’t like to be dressed up – but then you do see quite a few with quilted tie-over coats or whatever – maybe it’s because that’s like a tube for her to get into.
Superb shot of the eagle – they’re a really beautiful bird aren’t they – ours are just brown…

Eagles are interesting to watch hunt, as this one was doing. I will have to look up your Eagles.
Willow hates being dressed up. This sweater was on her for about two minutes before she tarted tearing it off. Some dogs of her breed are used for blood tracking. They are often fitted with a rigid coat and even googles if they have to track in low thorny brush. I guess they are trained to keep it on.

our eagles are pretty boring – there’s only golden eagles and sea eagles/ernes (and I’m not sure they’re purely British anyway).
What are ‘googles’?

Oops. I meant goggles or safety glasses.

Ha ha – I’m just off to goggle something on my computer! 😉 I can’t imagine a dog in goggles – any photos anywhere?

I know! Ha ha. My spelling is atrocious. Here is a link with some photos. The dog in them is the same breed as Willow.

I hope that Eagle was not looking out for Willow. We have lots of bald Eagles here in PEI along the coast and inlets. I wonder how old is Willow now? Our Nicky will be 16 in a few weeks.

Hi Larry, Willow is 10. I can’t believe that we have had her that long, you would think she would be better trained😀. Eagles will sometimes give Willow a look, but must consider her too much trouble. I know someone whose much smaller dog was picked up by a great grey owl. Luckily the owner saw it happen and chased after it. The owl didn’t get far before dropping the dog unscathed completely fine, other than the trauma to the owner. Nicky sure is a fine looking dog. I hope he is enjoying the sunbeam and his scratches from you and Will .

Ha ha! No Willow doesn’t like wearing anything. Bald Eagles are common around the lakes where they like to hunt. Thanks for stopping by.
