Ha ha! They are fir and those blocks were pretty heavy, that’s why most of them are split so they were easier to load. I still think you need a small chain saw. It doesn’t need to be a gasoline model. There are some good ones that are electric. You could load lengths into your vehicle and buck them up at home. Easy easy! 🙂
I’ve only really met the heavy duty chainsaw models (on a course) but they terrified me. I’m not sure whether I’d cope with an electric one or not. The heavy-duty ones just seemed too eager to jump around and kick off the log and ‘go for you’ – terrifying!
Thanks Julie. That is Maynard the Cocker Spaniel. She is my sister Deb’s dog. He loves coming on our excursions and is an exceptional rabbit hunter, much to the chagrin of Deb.

Good looking helpers you’ve got there! Although they look pretty tuckered!

No wonder they look tired, I made them load the firewood. 🙂

That’s the difference between you with your chainsaw and me with a handsaw – the size of those logs! LOL

If you accidentally touch the tip on a log it will jump back. Luckily there is a brake that should apply if that happens.
